It’s Getting Hot Out There

Howdy Y’all!!!!

How do you like my warm Texas greeting?

I just got back from taking my kids to the park and all I can think of is “What was I thinking”? Did I seriously think it was a good idea to go outside to play at 1:30 pm, the day before Summer officially begins?! The only outdoor place I want to be midday for the next few months is the POOL!!!

I can’t complain too much, at least there was a decent breeze out. And we did manage to have some fun despite the heat.

Always a kid at heart 🙂

All arms and legs! She was made for dangling, lol!!!

A few more minutes of the monkey bars and we called it quits. We found a shaded slide and played “Sonic Drive-In” Instead. Oh, how I love the imagination of children!!

After the park I came home to prep dinner in the crockpot. I LOVE cooking in the crockpot because it means I don’t have to spend my evenings slaving over a hot stove and there will be minimal dishes to clean up. Lance actually does the dishes since I cook but I can imagine he would be saying, “Oh yeah!!”

Tonight we are having Crockpot Beef Fajitas and a side of Mexican rice. The Mexican rice is one I found at the grocery store in the freezer section. Nice and easy!!

I hope raw meat doesn’t gross you out because I want to show you what it looks like all prepped and ready to cook.

My cute boy stole a couple bell peppers to snack on while I was making it. I am so thankful this kid will eat just about anything!!

All red and sweaty from playing at the park!!

Workout of the day

Two days in a row of making it to the gym….whoop, whoop!!!!

I tried out a Body Flow class for the first time today and I have to say, , it was harder than I expected it to be! It may have been due to the fact that my legs were already a bit stiff from yesterdays lower body work. I did like it though! It is certainly a change of pace from my normal workouts. Usually, I prefer very fast paced, sweaty workouts because I want to feel like I am WORKING IT!! I still felt like it was a GREAT workout, just without leaving the class a stinky mess ;-P. I can see how one could totally get lean and strong by incorporating this type of workout regularly.

If you haven’t ever tried a Body Flow class, here is a little description.

Les Mills BODYFLOW™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Oh boy, my kid is raiding the fridge………at least he grabbed an apple!!!

If you have kids, are they healthy eaters or do they tend to be picky?

How do you beat boredom in the Summer when it is too hot to be outside?
